Birthday Poem Example
The day you were born, it was a surprise,
Arriving weeks early, in fact it was five.
The doctor said "you have a little boy",
Wrapping you up, our bundle of joy.
Soft blonde hair and eyes that shine,
you never complained, cried or whined.
Always so sweet, and you still are,
A heart of gold and a shining star.
Hitting the balls since the age of four,
Running the bases for a base hit score.
From the dugout he would yell,
Cheering you on, was your friend Noel.
Dressed in red and in a hurry,
Off to the track on weekends you scurry.
Out of the gate with your favorite gal,
Full throttle she goes, her name Gisele.
In first place you're looking hot,
Today's your day to get the Holeshot.
We watch from the stands as you ride on by,
Around the corners and the jumps you fly.
Not always lucky, you've broken some bones,
In the dirt where you lay, letting out your groans.
Feeling defeated, but can't wait to race,
The cast you cut, giving your hand enough space.
You like to speed, riding anything fast,
The faster it goes, the more of a blast.
Thinking that growing up is overrated,
To the park you go, on the scooter you skated.
Making new friends where ever you go,
Easy to meet, your personality shows.
Funny, kind and very smart,
Others can see that right from the start.
Tall and lean there you stand,
No longer a boy, but becoming a man.
Where did the years go? We often wonder,
They went as quick as a clap of thunder.
Watching you grow we all can see,
What a wonderful person you've turned out to be.
Its been an honor and privilege and everything between,
Our little boy is now eighteen!
